Jabuticaba, also spelled Jaboticaba, is the edible fruit of the jabuticabeira or Brazilian grape tree, which is a tree in the family Myrtaceae, native to Brazil. The tree may even look covered in purple warts or pimples when it is fully in season.
The purplish-black, white-pulped fruit grows directly on the trunk of the tree. It is eaten raw or used to make jellies, jams, juice or wine
